Mick Schumacher can make the jump to F-1
He can follow in his father's footsteps: Mick Schumacher is the son of German F-1 legend and seven-time champion
Ferrari's 'Team Principal', Mattia Binotto, acknowledged that he is considering German Mick Schumacher, son of world champion Michael Schumacher, to make the jump to F-1 in "a small team".
Schumacher, 21, who is part of the Scuderia's young driver program, finished third in the Formula 2 race held at the Montmeló circuit (Barcelona) and is fifth overall after 12 rounds.
"He is doing well in Formula 2 this season and his job was to improve, and he is doing it. We will talk to him soon about the plans for next year. The logical thing would be a small Formula 1 team first, where he can understand everything and then slowly improve," Binotto told the 'Bild am Sonntag' newspaper on Sunday before the Spanish Grand Prix.
