Your $967 or $1,450 Social Security Payment is Coming Soon

The Social Security Administration (SSA) has confirmed the Supplemental Security Income (SSI) payment schedule for the second half of 2025. The base amounts maintain the federal values of $943 for individuals and $1,415 for couples, with possible increases due to state supplements.

SSI deposits are made on the first business day of each month. When the first falls on a weekend, payment is made in advance to the previous Friday. This mechanism generates adjustments three months into the second half of the month. The SSA has applied this procedure since 1974 to ensure timeliness.

SSI payments scheduled for July through December

July 2025 will see a normal payment on July 1st (Tuesday). August will follow the same pattern on August 1st (Friday). September will maintain the standard date of September 1st (Monday), with no changes due to a weekday.

October will have a peculiarity: the regular payment on October 1st (Wednesday) will be followed by the November advance payment on October 31st (Friday). This is because November 1st is a Saturday. December will close the year with a timely disbursement on December 1st (Monday).

November 2025 will be the only month of the second half of the year without SSI payments. Beneficiaries will receive these funds early on October 31. The SSA clarifies that this advance payment does not represent an extra payment, but rather a calendar adjustment.

Payments for July, August, and September will remain unchanged. All payments will be distributed on their usual dates, coinciding with business days. The SSA reminds us that 99% of beneficiaries receive their funds via direct deposit, eliminating mail delays.

Let’s remember the payment’s limits

The SSI payment amount for an individual applicant is $967, while for a couple, the amount can increase to $1,450. These are only maximum amounts, as various factors can cause the allotted payment to be reduced, for example, due to receiving retirement benefits or other low-income benefits.

The SSA continues to phase out physical checks. Since 2013, all new beneficiaries must opt for direct deposit or a Direct Express debit card. This measure aims to reduce fraud and expedite the distribution of more than 70 million monthly payments.

For specific inquiries, the SSA has its official website (ssa.gov) and call centers available in English and Spanish. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., depending on the local time zone. No appointment is required for basic inquiries.

Other Social Security payments in July

Social Security retirement and disability beneficiaries will follow a different schedule than SSI. July payments will be distributed on Wednesdays, July 9, 16, and 23, depending on their date of birth (those who claimed benefits after May 1997). Respectively, the groups are beneficiaries with birthdates: from 1 to 10, from 11 to 20, and from 21 to 31. Those who received benefits before 1997 will receive their payments on Thursday, July 3.

The SSA indicates that electronic payments may be reflected up to three business days after the scheduled date. Before reporting incidents, it is recommended to check the status on the my Social Security platform or call 1-800-772-1213.
