Changes are coming for those who are residents of the state of Pennsylvania who are already part of or may be eligible for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). On Monday, Pennsylvania Department of Human Services Secretary Dr. Val Arkoosh made an announcement regarding increases in income limits and benefits of the food stamps program.

The changes continue in an annual adjustment of the USDA Food and Nutrition Service. In the following box we show you the income limits of SNAP benefits, that began to rule As of October 1, 2024:

How Much You Could Receive Based on the Number of People in Your Home

Factors that could help subsidies Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and household income limits are higher in Pennsylvania They include household size, monthly income, and whether any member of your household is age 60 or older or has a disability.

In addition to that, we show you in greater detail the changes to the Maximum Economic Food Plan that came into effect on October 1, 2024. The Maximum Economic Food Plan is the maximum amount of benefits Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) with which a home can count.

This Year There Will Be No Changes in the Minimum Monthly Benefit; Minimum Benefit Remains The Same, $23

The Department of Human Services says the best way to determine if your household will qualify for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and his benefit monthly is to submit an application.

“Being able to feed yourself and your family is not just a matter of health; It also instills a sense of self-reliance, security, and dignity when you know you can access fresh, nutritious food without having to make the difficult decision between paying for groceries and paying for other necessities,” Secretary Arkoosh commented. “Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) helps more than two million Pennsylvanians, many of whom are our friends and neighbors, keep food on their tables. I strongly encourage anyone who may need food assistance to apply.  Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)”.

Replacement of Benefits Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) Stolen

 Besides of increases in income and benefit limits in SNAP, Arkoosh also announced that the replacement of benefits SNAP stolen benefits (which DHS began offering in 2023) has been extended to stolen benefits through December 20, 2024.

The beneficiaries of Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) to those who have had their electronically stolen benefits Until December 20, 2024, you can request a refund of your benefits. To request a refund, beneficiaries of SNAP must complete a Claim for Theft of Benefits  through a PDF form to a web form within 60 calendar days after what happened. DHS will then validate within 30 calendar days of the request being submitted to conduct its evaluation and, if a replacement must be made, it can proceed within 10 calendar days of the evaluation.
