The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or SNAP benefits, are being distributed timely and without delays in the state of Florida, which has 2.96 million recipients who receive these financial aid that are intended for the purchase of nutritious foods and beverages.  The Access Florida card is your wild card: an EBT that works as a debit card but with your benefits loaded.

When do you have it in your hands? Only after they approve your application. You can call 1-888-356-3281 if you need any advice from an official from the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF), where they will help you throughout the entire process, from the initial application to maintaining “recertifications,” which means periodically checking that you still qualify for payments.

How much do you get in SNAP benefits according to your family?

Those who have recently applied, or are thinking about doing so, should keep in mind that the normal waiting time to receive the first payment is 30 days, but if the household situation is critical, and they have zero income at the time of applying, an expedited mode is activated that could speed up the process and send the first deposit as quickly as 7 days.

The 2025 amounts are valid at the federal level, and apply to the 48 contiguous states along with Washington DC (Alaska and Hawaii have different amounts).

According to the US Department of Agriculture (USDA), these are the values for household size:

  • 1 person: Maximum $292 (average $199)
  • 2 people: Up to $536 (about $364)
  • 3 people: Goes up to $768 (about $594 in practice)
  • 4 people: Here it is $975 (but calculate $726)
  • 5 people: Up to $1,158 (normally $845)
  • 6 people: As much $1,390 (about $1,018)
  • 7 people: Maximum is $1,536 (average $1,116)
  • 8 people: You can get up to $1,756 (about $1,317)
  • And for each extra person in the house, it adds $220.

Payment dates in the state of Florida are organized depending on the 8th and 9th digits of your case number (read them backwards, and omit the tenth number). For example, if the last three digits of your case number are 789, eliminate the 9, and flip the other two digits: then your reference number is 87.

And the closest dates are the following:

  • 42-45: February 13
  • 46-48: February 14
  • 49-53: February 15
  • 54-57: February 16
  • 58-60: February 17
  • 61-64: February 18
  • 65-67: February 19
  • 68-71: February 20
  • 72-74: February 21
  • 75-78: February 22

Do you have cash or SUNCAP help? Your cash arrives between the 1st and 3rd of the month. And be careful! Everyone receives the funds at exactly midnight, both SUNCAP and SNAP benefits. If you have any delay when receiving your payments, you’re encouraged to wait at least 3 business days and then call the Florida DCF at 1-888-356-3281.
