Hundreds of thousands of Americans have the arrival of a new stimulus payment marked on their agenda, which arrives every year in the month of October. Alaska’s Permanent Fund Dividend (PFD) delivered a fantastic $1,702 per resident in 2024.
This amount included $1,403.83 corresponding to the regular dividend and an additional $298.17 as a one-time energy relief payment, approved by the state legislature in 2023. The money comes from revenue generated by the state’s natural resources (oil exploitation) and managed through Alaska’s permanent fund.
A stimulus check to arrive for those who met the requirements
Applications for the 2025 PFD were received between January 1 and March 31, 2025. Those who applied after the deadline were rejected. Although the amount for 2025 is not confirmed, a similar payment is projected for 2024, close to $1,702. Payments will begin in October 2025, according to the usual schedule.
To receive the 2025 PFD, applicants had to be residents of Alaska for all of 2024 and maintain the intention to reside there indefinitely. Absences of more than 180 days required justification, such as military service or studies. In addition, physical presence of at least 72 consecutive hours was required in 2023 or 2024.
Those who had felony convictions in 2024 or were incarcerated for multiple misdemeanors were excluded. The process verified compliance through state and federal records. These regulations seek to align the program with citizen responsibility policies.
Three PFD program updates: Payment schedule revealed

- 2024 (and prior year) dividend applications that are in “Eligible-Not Paid” status on May 7, 2025, will be distributed on May 15, 2025.
Who’s eligible and who’s not for the stimulus payment
Everyone who was considered eligible must have completed the respective procedure at pfd.alaska.gov or through physical forms. Each person, including minors, needed an individual application.
The automated system confirmed receipt, but did not validate eligibility during shipment. The subsequent review determined approval or rejection according to the established criteria, and is in the hands of the officials of the agency in charge.
Those who submitted their application after March 31 will not be considered, even if they meet all the requirements.
