SNAP Benefits in Texas: June Payments, Requirements, and More to Know

The first round of Social Security payments for June 2025 begins in three days. Millions of beneficiaries depend on these funds. They cover retirement, disability (SSDI), and SSI. Payments typically begin on the first day of each month, with other payments distributed on the third day of the month, followed by payments to beneficiaries on the second, third, and fourth Wednesdays.

Payment amounts vary depending on earnings history, starting age, and benefit type. The Social Security Administration (SSA) implemented a 2.5% COLA adjustment for 2025. This increase represents about $50 per month on average.

Social Security Amounts: Everything You Need to Know

For retirement benefits, the average monthly benefit is $1,976 for individuals. Couples receive an average of $3,089. The maximum amount reaches $5,108 per month for those who retired at age 70. This maximum requires a history of high income and a delayed application.

SSDI benefits have an average monthly payment of $1,580. The calculation depends on the beneficiary’s work and tax history. Individual amounts can vary significantly depending on these factors.

Supplemental Security Income (SSI) has a federal maximum of $967 for individuals. Couples can receive up to $1,450. These amounts may be reduced by other income or living arrangements. Eligibility determines the final payment.

The June 2025 payment dates follow the usual schedule based on birth or conditions. The official schedule was published by the Social Security Administration. Beneficiaries should check their individual circumstances.

Payments were made on Tuesday, June 3, for a specific group. This includes those who began receiving benefits before May 1997. It also covers residents outside the U.S. and those who receive SSI and Social Security together.

Social Security payments arriving this week

Wednesday, June 11, is for beneficiaries whose birthdates are between the 1st and 10th of any month. Distribution will take place on that business day. No delays are anticipated for this specific date.

Wednesday, June 18, is assigned to those born between the 11th and 20th of any month. A national holiday, Juneteenth (June 19), could cause a one-business-day delay. The SSA will confirm operations.

Wednesday, June 25, completes the calendar for those born between the 21st and 31st of any month. All payments are based on the corresponding business day. Direct deposits are the primary delivery method, and the SSA encourages beneficiaries who still receive payments by check to switch to digital payment.

Why there’s no SSI payment in June: Social Security explains

SSI beneficiaries will not receive payment in June 2025. This is due to a payment schedule rule. Normally, SSI is paid on the first day of each month. When that day is a holiday, it is paid earlier.

June 1, 2025, was a Sunday, a non-business day. Therefore, the June SSI payment was issued on Friday, May 30, 2025. Beneficiaries received that advance payment.

This situation means that there were two SSI payments in May: on May 1 (for May) and May 30 (for June). There will be no distribution of SSI funds in June. The total annual amount is not affected.
