SSA Confirms SSDI (Disability) Dates for June 2025 With Payments of Nearly $4,000

In the middle of this week, the Social Security Administration (SSA) will distribute benefits to retired workers who claimed benefits after May 1997, which are categorized by their date of birth.

The agency uses the same system to distribute benefits to disabled workers receiving SSDI (Disability Insurance) payments. Other workers who claimed retirement or SSDI benefits before May 1997 received their payments on June 3.

This date also applies to retirees living abroad or receiving retirement (or SSDI) along with Supplemental Security Income (SSI): the SSI payment is sent on the first day of each month (or the nearest business day if it falls on a weekend), and the remaining payments on the third day of the month.

Who will receive their Social Security payments on June 11?

Beneficiaries who will receive their payments on Wednesday, June 11, are those whose birthday falls between the 1st and 10th of any month. This rule applies to beneficiaries of traditional retirement, SSDI (Disability Insurance), and survivors’ benefits.

Retirees or SSDI beneficiaries with birthdates between the 11th and the 20th of any month could expect their payments on Wednesday, June 18. Finally, those with birthdates after the 21st will be paid on Wednesday, June 25.

There are significant variations in the amounts paid depending on the type of benefit program. For Social Security retirees, the average monthly amount is approximately $1,999.97. This figure may vary slightly monthly due to administrative adjustments or rounding by the SSA.

The maximum available benefit varies depending on retirement age. Those who delay retirement until age 70 can receive up to $5,108 per month, subject to a history of consistently high earnings. Those who retire at full retirement age, currently 67, receive a maximum of approximately $4,018.

In contrast, early retirement at age 62 entails a reduction in the maximum benefit. In these cases, the maximum amount drops to approximately $2,831 per month. This adjustment reflects the application of early retirement penalties established by the SSA.

SSDI payments in June 2025

The Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) program calculates payments based on the beneficiary’s work history. Therefore, SSDI amounts can reach levels similar to those of retirement benefits, depending on the individual’s previous contributions.

However, the average amount received by SSDI beneficiaries is less than their retirement benefit. According to updated data for 2025, this average is around $1,581.88 per month. Although there is a theoretical maximum SSDI benefit of over $3,600, most beneficiaries receive lower amounts.

The ability to reach the maximum SSDI amount is directly linked to the worker’s high income before becoming eligible for the program. Factors such as the length of contributions and previous salary level determine the final calculation.

A quick review of SSI payments

While no SSI payments are expected for the remainder of the month, we can review the maximum payments, as there are three distinct amounts. The first maximum is the payment for a single beneficiary, which can be up to $967. If the applicant has a dependent spouse, both can qualify for a maximum of $1,450.

If eligible, a payment of up to $484 can be requested to pay for assistance for an essential person.

Despite the established maximums, the average benefit actually received by SSI beneficiaries is lower, around $717.87 per month. This difference is due to the fact that many do not qualify for the full payment. The existence of partial income or receipt of state support reduces the final SSI amount.
