In its fall 2024 collection, IKEA launched its latest creation for the bedroom, the VITARNA bed, a four-post frame painted in two of IKEA’s patented shades of white, Luröy and Skådis. It is reminiscent of those stately beds that royalty have in their palaces or castles, but brought to the 21st century by the Swedish brand, and with a back board as a headrest, using the IKEA SKÅDIS pegboards, with the functionality that they offer.
The perforations in the SKÅDIS pegboard can be used to place accessories such as drawers to place small objects, bedside lamps (such as the NÄVLINGE clip-on lamp) or the NYMÅNE, which although it requires installation, is easy to place and will make your bed look really aesthetically pleasing.

To give it that palace touch, the VITARNA bed is designed with a four-post frame and a horizontal crown, which then offers the possibility of adding light curtains, such as the LILL curtains ($4.99 at IKEA stores in the United States).
These types of designs work fantastically in small studio apartments, where you need to create a sort of separation between the sleeping area and the rest of the apartment, without the need to erect a wall or place heavy and uncomfortable furniture that takes up valuable space.

The VITARNA bed frame has the following measurements: 55 ½” wide, 77 ½” long, 10 ⅝” from the floor to the base of the bed, and 78 ⅜” from floor to top crown. The new VITARNA bed, in full-size, is available throughout the United States, both in stores and on its website for purchase and shipping nationwide, and is priced at $244.98.
It is advisable to buy it directly with the full-size mattress from IKEA, either the foam MORGEDAL, which is priced at $269, or the best-selling VALEVÅG pocket spring mattress, which is priced at $279.
