Maximum Amounts of SNAP Benefits Until September 30

As you already know, the maximum SNAP benefits are assigned to each household according to the number of people who live together and will benefit from the financial allocation.

Maximum SNAP benefit amounts through September 30, 2024 vary by household size and state of residence. However, at the federal level, these are the general limits in effect for the 48 contiguous states and Washington DC (Hawaii, Alaska, and Guam have different maximum values due to their high costs of living):

  • 1 person: $291 monthly
  • 2 people: $535 monthly
  • 3 people: $766 monthly
  • 4 people: $973 monthly
  • 5 people: $1,155 monthly
  • 6 people: $1,386 monthly
  • 7 people: $1,532 monthly
  • 8 people: $1,751 monthly
  • Each additional person: $219 additional monthly

Beginning October 1, 2024, a cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) will increase benefits for fiscal year 2025. The COLA increase is anticipated to be 2.5%, allowing beneficiaries of SNAP to receive a larger amount to address rising costs of living.
