Double Up Food Bucks program
The Double Up Food Bucks program doubles the value of CalFresh benefits when purchasing fresh fruits and vegetables. For every $1 spent, recipients get $1 extra, up to $60 monthly. Additional funds are loaded onto the EBT card for future purchases.
It is available at participating stores, including Food Co and markets affiliated with Double Up California. “It’s direct support for accessing healthy foods,” said a program representative. Additionally, in summer, families with children in school meal programs may receive $120 extra per child.
Verifying payments and resolving issues
Recipients can check balances via the ebtEDGE app or the www.ebt.ca.gov portal. For deposit errors, they should contact their county agency or call the CalFresh hotline (1-877-847-3663). Recertification is required every 1 to 2 years, depending on the case.
