Supplemental Security Income (SSI) recipients will receive their July payment on Tuesday, July 1, 2025. This disbursement follows the standard Social Security Administration (SSA) procedure, which assigns the first day of each month for these payments.

When this date falls on a weekend or holiday, the SSI payments are advanced to the previous business day, which was the case in June. Due to this rule, no payment was made in June, and the corresponding payment was advanced to May (there were two deposits, on May 1 and 30).

Supplemental Security Income payments for July 2025

The federal maximum amounts for 2025 include (like all other benefits) a 2.5% COLA adjustment, announced in October 2024 and implemented in January. The official amounts are $967 per month for individuals and $1,450 for couples who both receive SSI.

Those who provide essential care to a beneficiary are eligible for $484. This type of benefit is rare, so it must be clearly justified and substantiated when applying.

Net pay is calculated by deducting countable income. Every $2 of earned income reduces the benefit by approximately $1. Other income, such as pensions or benefits, is fully deducted. In-kind assistance for housing or food also reduces the final amount. Many beneficiaries receive less than the federal maximum because of these deductions.

Some states administer supplemental programs (SSPs) that increase the total received. Examples include California, Nevada, and New Jersey, where federal and state combinations can exceed $1,200 per person per month. The variability depends on local regulations and state budgets.

Other social security payments in July

Programs such as Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI), retirement, and survivor benefits follow different calendars than SSI. Their July 2025 dates are based on the beneficiary’s birthday: those born between the 1st and 10th receive benefits on Wednesday the 9th. Those born between the 11th and 20th receive funds on Wednesday the 16th.

Those born between the 21st and 31st receive payments on Wednesday, the 23rd. Exceptions apply: beneficiaries born before May 1997 and those receiving SSI combined with Social Security receive payments on July 3rd. The SSA maintains this segmentation to distribute massive transaction volumes.

The average amounts vary significantly between programs. Individual retirees receive $1,976 per month, while couples average $3,089. The maximum amounts for retirees who delayed receiving benefits until age 70 are $5,108. These amounts do not affect SSI calculations.

What happens if I don’t receive my SSI payment in July 2025?

If your July 1st payment doesn’t arrive, beneficiaries should check with their financial institution. Processing delays can occur without implying SSA errors. Institutions should confirm whether they received the transaction or if there are internal delays.

If the registration remains unregistered after three business days, you should contact the SSA. The national phone number is 1-800-772-1213. Alternatively, local offices can handle in-person inquiries. Identification and a Social Security number are essential for any application.
