Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP benefits) are distributed between June 22 and 30 in several states, as some states send their funds throughout the month due to their large beneficiary populations.

California, New York, Texas, Florida, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Georgia, and North Carolina operate within this period. Most administer deposits “throughout the month.” Exact dates vary by state. Recipients should confirm with their local agencies.

Some states distribute SNAP benefits this week

Florida allocates SNAP benefits using the last digits of Social Security numbers. Deposits occur throughout the last week of June for specific numbers. SUNCAP distributes initial payments within the first few days. Regular beneficiaries receive funds through the 30th. The state agency does not publicly publish detailed daily schedules.

Texas bases its schedule on the Eligibility Determination Group (EDG). EDG numbers 00-99 receive payments between June 16 and 28. This includes dates as early as the 22nd. North Carolina ends its distribution on June 21. Therefore, it does not make subsequent deposits during that period.

New York distributes SNAP benefits between June 1 and 30. Some counties extend payments until the end of the month depending on caseloads. California concentrates deposits between June 1 and 10. Exceptional cases may receive them later. Missouri and Arkansas complete deliveries by June 22.

Maximum amounts for SNAP benefits allotments in 2025

By June 2025, the maximum SNAP benefits in 48 states and D.C. are:

  • 1 person: $292
  • 2 people: $536
  • 3 people: $768
  • 4 people: $975
  • 5 people: $1,158
  • 6 people: $1,390
  • 7 people: $1,536
  • 8 people: $1,756
  • Each additional member adds $220.

These amounts reflect cost-of-living adjustments (COLAs) for fiscal year 2025.

A quick review on SNAP benefits

SNAP is a federal program administered by the USDA-FNS. It provides food assistance through an EBT card. Its purpose is to facilitate the purchase of basic foods such as fruits, vegetables, meats, and dairy products. “SNAP cannot be used to purchase alcohol, tobacco, kitchen utensils, cleaning products, hot prepared meals, or dietary supplements.”

You must know that the income of the household must not trespass certain limits, since the program is created to deliver payments to low-income families. The income limits for 2025 are:

  • Gross income: ≤130% of the federal poverty level ($1,632 for 1 person; $3,380 for 4).
  • Net income: ≤100% of the same level ($1,255 for one; $2,600 for four). Those age 60 or older or disabled have a gross income limit of 165%.
  • Liquid assets must not exceed $3,000 ($4,500 for elderly/disabled individuals). Deductions include:
    • $204 standard monthly (more for larger households)
    • 20% of labor income
    • Childcare expenses
    • Medical costs >$35/month (for seniors/disabled)
    • Excessive housing expenses

Labor rules some SNAP recipients must comply with

People ages 16 to 59 must work or seek employment. Exceptions apply to students, caregivers, and people with disabilities. ABAWDs (adults without dependents) require 80 hours/month of work or training. As of October 2024, the age limit is 54. Exemptions include veterans, pregnant women, homeless people, or people with medical limitations.
