CalFresh Food Stamps: June Payments Arriving Now—Check Your Eligibility

The CalFresh program provides significant food assistance to low-income residents in California through June 2025. This is the local name for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) food stamp program. This federally administered, locally managed system distributes resources for the purchase of basic food items. It operates according to parameters established by the state Department of Social Services.

June CalFresh benefits are issued between June 1 and 10, depending on the last digit of the case number. For example, terminals with “5” receive funds on the 5th. This monthly schedule aims to organize the mass distribution of aid. The sequence applies uniformly in all counties.

Who receives CalFresh: the profile of eligible beneficiaries

This year, more than 5 million Californians are currently relying on this program, and coverage includes beneficiary groups such as low-income households, single-parent families, the elderly, and people with disabilities.

Coverage includes diverse demographic groups that meet specific income requirements. The beneficiary population reflects the state’s diverse socioeconomic background.

Additionally, college students with certain characteristics are eligible, but those eligible for Supplemental Security Income (SSI) are also eligible: this latter group is one of the largest on its own, with more than 725,000 recipients across California.

Annual benefits for SSI recipients total $1.24 billion. This integration allows combined funds to be used for food needs. The measure expands access to basic nutrition for this population.

Maximum CalFresh amounts in 2025

The maximum amount a household can receive is defined by the federal payment limits outlined by the U.S. Department of Agriculture. For example, a one-person household can receive up to $292 per month, while a family of two can access $536.

If there are three people in the home, the amount rises to $768; with four people, to $975; five, $1,158; six recipients, $1,390; seven relatives or cohabitants could claim $1,536; and for eight individuals, $1,756. And if your household has more than eight members, $220 is added for each additional person.

In addition to California, these amounts apply to the 48 contiguous states and the District of Columbia.
