CalFresh benefits for June 2025 are almost here: next month, they will be distributed from June 1st to June 10th, based on the last digit of the beneficiary’s case number. Those with a final digit of 0 will receive funds on June 10th, while digits 1-9 correspond to days from June 1st to June 9th, respectively. It may be a little confusing, but don’t worry, we’ll explain it thoroughly.

The maximum SNAP payments in California are $292 for individuals and $1,756 for households of eight or more. In between these limits, families of two receive $536, and those of three receive $768. The amounts depend on income, expenses, and compliance with federal requirements.

The June CalFresh payment dates are as follows:

  • CalFresh case ending in 1: Benefits available on June 1
  • CalFresh case ending in 2: Benefits available on June 2
  • CalFresh case ending in 3: Benefits available on June 3

How to apply for CalFresh benefits in 2025

CalFresh applications can be completed in as little as 10 minutes, a process that is extremely easy and user-friendly because it is designed to be fully understandable and easy to complete with the smallest possible margin of error: it is completed through the getcalfresh.org portal.

Those who prefer telephone assistance can call 1-877-847-3663, with support in six languages. Applications are also accepted at local offices, which can be reached using the DSS pager.

Other programs complementary to CalFresh

CFAP: Assistance for Immigrants Not Eligible for SNAP: The California Food Assistance Program (CFAP) provides benefits equivalent to CalFresh to immigrants excluded from federal SNAP due to immigration status. Beginning in October 2025, people aged 55 or older will be eligible without immigration restrictions. Eligibility includes victims of human trafficking or crimes, with exemptions such as omitting a Social Security number.

Applicants denied SNAP benefits are automatically re-screened for CFAP. Starting September 2025, households with adults 55 or older will be notified to include eligible members without reapplying, through BenefitsCal or local agencies.

WIC, Nutritional Support for Women and Children: The Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program provides food, nutrition education, and medical referrals to pregnant and breastfeeding women and children under 5 years of age who are at nutritional risk. Eligibility includes income at least 185% of the federal poverty level or participation in Medi-Cal, CalFresh, or CalWORKs.

SFMNP, electronic cards for agricultural markets: The Farmers Market Nutrition Program (FMNP) provides an electronic card to adults aged 60 or older (or 55 or older for Native Americans) with incomes at or below 185% of the poverty level, starting in 2025. It allows them to purchase fruits, vegetables, herbs, and honey at certified farmers’ markets, without affecting SNAP eligibility.

CSFP, monthly basic food packages: The Commodity Supplemental Food Program provides packages containing fruits, grains, dairy products, and protein to people over 60 years of age with incomes below 130% of the poverty level. It does not require documentary proof of income, only self-declaration. It is compatible with SNAP but not with WIC.
