Between May 19 and 25, 2025 (this week), several U.S. states will continue distributing benefits to their millions of recipients across the country:
During this period, the following states are issuing SNAP benefits:
- Alabama: from May 4th to 23rd.
- Florida: from May 1st to 28th.
- Georgia: from May 5th to 23rd.
- Illinois: from May 1st to 20th.
- Indiana: from May 5th to 23rd.
- Kentucky: until May 19.
- Louisiana: from May 1st to 23rd.
- Maryland: from May 4th to 23rd.
- Michigan: from May 3 to 21.
- Mississippi: from May 4th to 21st.
- Missouri: from May 1st to 22nd.
- North Carolina: from May 3 to 21.
- New Mexico: from May 1st to 20th.
- Ohio: from May 2 to 20.
- Tennessee: from May 1st to 20th.
- Texas: from May 1st to 28th.
- Washington: from May 1st to 20th.
The maximum amounts you could receive depend on several factors, such as income and the overall financial situation of the household, including whether they own a home and vehicle, or countable personal property.
Until September 30, 2025, the maximum monthly SNAP amounts for fiscal year 2025 were set based on household size, a system that has been in place for decades and works well.
For a single person, the maximum payment is $292; for two, $536; for three, $768; and for four, $975. For a five-person household, the amount rises to $1,155, and for six people, it rises to $1,386. Finally, for seven and eight people, the maximum payment is $1,532 and $1,751, respectively. After that, each additional member adds $220 to the total.
