Americans Brace for the SSI “Missing” Payment in 2025: What You Need to Know

If you receive Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits in Texas, mark your calendar: between July 7 and 15, 2025, funds will be deposited for recipients with EDG numbers ending in 21 through 53.

Payments follow the standard schedule based on the last two digits of your case number. Each group gets assigned a specific deposit date to their Lone Star Card, so double-check your EDG.

This year’s maximum allotments are set. Single-person households receive up to $291, while families of eight qualify for $1,756, with an additional $220 per extra member. These are the federal caps effective through September 2025.

Upcoming dates for SNAP recipients in Texas

For those SNAP beneficiaries certified before June 1st, 2020, the deposits are sent from July 1st through July 15th.The issuance date depends on the last digit of your Eligibility Determination Group (EDG) number. Let’s take a look at the next list of payments for the upcoming days:

  • EDG ends in 0: Benefits available on the 1st

  • EDG ends in 1: Benefits available on the 3rd

  • EDG ends in 2: Benefits available on the 5th

  • EDG ends in 3: Benefits available on the 6th

  • EDG ends in 4: Benefits available on the 7th

  • EDG ends in 5: Benefits available on the 9th

  • EDG ends in 6: Benefits available on the 11th

  • EDG ends in 7: Benefits available on the 12th

  • EDG ends in 8: Benefits available on the 13th

  • EDG ends in 9: Benefits available on the 15th

Need to confirm your date? Check your official Eligibility Determination Group (EDG) notice or visit the Texas Health and Human Services website. Staggered payments help prevent system overload, so deposits continue through the 28th.

What about the recent flooding in Texas?

After catastrophic flooding in Hill Country (July 4-5, 2025) left 80 dead and dozens missing, many are asking about D-SNAP, the emergency food aid program. As of July 7, no formal activation has been announced, though the disaster’s severity makes approval likely soon. Affected residents should monitor HHSC’s official updates.

Governor Greg Abbott declared a disaster across 20 counties, which could fast-track assistance. D-SNAP provides temporary benefits even to those who don’t typically qualify for SNAP—if they have disaster-related expenses. For now, it remains pending.

The regular SNAP benefits continue to be disbursed, and these are the maximum amounts a household in Texas can be entitled to (when complying with the requirements):

  • 1 person: $292

  • 2 people: $536

  • 3 people: $768

  • 4 people: $975

  • 5 people: $1,158

  • 6 people: $1,390

  • 7 people: $1,536

  • 8 people: $1,756

  • Each additional person: Add $220

Applying online is your quickest path for SNAP benefits in TX

Head straight to YourTexasBenefits.com. The digital application usually takes 20-40 minutes if you gather your pay stubs, ID, and rent/mortgage details beforehand. If you hit a snag or prefer voice guidance, dial 2-1-1 (then press option 2). A real person helps in English or Spanish, and they won’t rush you.

Don’t panic if you’re missing a document; you can upload it later through the portal after submitting your initial info.

For face-to-face help, swing by your nearest Texas Health and Human Services office (locals call them “benefits offices”). Find yours using HHSC’s office locator tool online – just plug in your zip code.

A pro, quick tip to follow: Call ahead (or go early!) because wait times stretch past an hour, especially mid-month. Bring a book, charger, and copies of bills/IDs. Staff there actually take photos of your documents if you forgot to scan them – no extra hassle.
