There’s No SSI Payment in June 2025: Where’s Your Money and What’s Next

The Social Security Administration (SSA) payment schedule is about to begin once again in the month of August. As you know, the agency sends five monthly payments usually each month, but there are a few months that include an advance payment for the following month.

On August 1, senior beneficiaries of the Supplemental Security Income (SSI) program will receive their next payment corresponding to that month, but that is not all: on August 30 they will receive another payment. Why are there two payments? That is due to a peculiarity of the SSA calendar.

The agency does not send deposits or checks on holidays or weekends, and since September 1st falls on a Saturday, payment is advanced to the nearest business day, in this case being August 30th.

As things stand, the next payment for SSI beneficiaries, after this check, is October 1, which falls on a Tuesday.

Retirees, SSDI beneficiaries of Social Security and their three payments in August

In the month of August, Social Security and Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) benefits will be sent on the second, third, and fourth Wednesdays, and beneficiaries are assigned to each of these Wednesdays based on date of birth:

  • On the second Wednesday, retirees and SSDI beneficiaries receive their payments, those with birthdays between the 1st and 10th of each month.
  • On the third Wednesday, retirees and SSDI beneficiaries receive their payments, those with birthdays between the 11th and 20th of each month.
  • On the fourth Wednesday, retirees and SSDI beneficiaries receive their payments, those whose birthdays are between the 21st and 31st of each month.

Summary of Payment Dates for Social Security Beneficiaries in August

Having explained this, the payment dates organized for the month of August are as follows:

  • August 1: Payment of SSI benefits (corresponding to the month of August)
  • August 14: SSDI beneficiaries, retirees whose birthdays are between the 1st and 10th.
  • August 21: SSDI beneficiaries, retirees with birthdays between the 11th and 20th.
  • August 28: SSDI beneficiaries, retirees whose birthdays are between the 21st and 31st.
  • August 30: Second payment of SSI benefits (advance, corresponding to the month of September).

Maximum Social Security Benefits to Be Collected in August

Ever Social Security benefit have different maximums, as set by the Social Security Administration (SSA):

  • Maximum SSDI benefits: $3,822 per month.
  • Average SSDI benefits: $1,489.26 per month.
  • Maximum SSI benefit for an individual: $943 per month.
  • Maximum SSI benefit for an individual with a spouse: $1,415 per month.

  • Maximum Social Security retirement benefit: $4,873 per month.

If your benefits did not arrive on the expected date, the SSA recommends waiting at least three business days, especially if there is a weekend or a holiday in the middle. Sometimes there may be delays related to processes of your bank, or the postal service if, in your case, you receive payments by paper checks.
