Trump to Launch $1,000 Stimulus Payments for People Born Between These Years

SSDI Benefits of as Much as $4,018 to Be Sent This Week

If you receive Supplemental Security Income (SSI), you might have noticed something different about your February payment. You might have seen that your money actually arrived in January. This is not an error, but it is actually an intended change made by the Social Security Administration (SSA).

We took a look at the SSA official website, and we found the explanation: SSI payments are typically issued on the 1st of each month. However, when the 1st falls on a weekend or a federal holiday, the payment is moved up to the last business day before that date. Since February 1, 2025, falls on a Saturday, the payment was sent out on Friday, January 31, 2025, instead.

Why you’re not getting an SSI payment on February 1st

This means SSI recipients won’t receive a separate payment in February. But don’t worry—this isn’t a reduction in benefits or a missed payment. It’s simply a scheduling adjustment to ensure you get your funds on time. So, when’s the next payment?

The next SSI payment will arrive on Friday, February 28, since March 1 falls on a Saturday. After that, payments will return to their usual schedule, with the April payment arriving on Tuesday, April 1, 2025.

May’s check will arrive without any changes on the first day of the month, and, once again, you’ll experience a forwarded payment on May 30, which corresponds to June’s deposit.

The maximum SSI payment in 2025

As a way of summary, the Supplemental Security Income (SSI) is a federal program that provides financial assistance to individuals who are aged (65 or older), blind, and disabled with limited income and resources.

This includes adults and children who meet specific eligibility criteria based on their medical condition, income, and assets. SSI helps cover basic needs such as food, clothing, and shelter for those who might otherwise struggle financially.

The program is particularly important for individuals who do not qualify for Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) or who have not worked enough to earn sufficient Social Security credits.

For 2025, the maximum monthly SSI benefits are $967 for an individual, $1,450 for a couple, and $484 for an essential person. An essential person lives with and provides necessary care to an SSI recipient, often a family member or close companion.

These amounts got a 2.5% increment in 2024 with the cost of living adjustment (COLA) for the 2025 fiscal year all over the US states, and they will be valid up to September 2025.
