Millions of U.S. households receive SNAP benefits, commonly called food stamps, between July 9 and 19. This mid-month phase includes multiple states implementing staggered deposits to prevent system delays and overload.

SNAP recipients in these jurisdictions might receive payments this week. Distribution timing varies across state administrations despite this shared window. Each state maintains its unique SNAP payment schedule. Numerous families rely on these specific dates when planning monthly grocery purchases.

Confirming whether your state falls within this group aids household budget organization. Payment dates depend on case number digits, surnames, or other state-specific criteria.

Maximum SNAP EBT Deposits American Families Can Expect

Maximum monthly SNAP allotments remain effective through September 2025 for the 48 contiguous states and DC. Approved amounts are: 1 person: $292, 2 people: $536, 3 people: $768, 4 people: $975, 5 people: $1,158. Larger households receive: 6 people: $1,390, 7 people: $1,536, 8 people: $1,756. Each additional person adds $220. These figures confirm the correct benefit for eight-member households.

The Eligibility Thresholds Anyone Must Comply With for Food Stamps

Federal USDA guidelines effective October 1, 2024, through September 30, 2025, establish income limits. The gross monthly income cap (130% of federal poverty level) is: 1 person: $1,632, 2 persons: $2,215, 3 persons: $2,798, 4 persons: $3,380.

Higher thresholds apply to: 5 persons: $3,963, 6 persons: $4,546, 7 persons: $5,129, 8 persons: $5,712. Each additional person increases the limit by $583.

The net monthly income ceiling (100% of poverty level) is: 1 person: $1,255, 2 persons: $1,704, 3 persons: $2,152, 4 persons: $2,600.

Larger households face: 5 persons: $3,049, 6 persons: $3,497, 7 persons: $3,945, 8 persons: $4,394. Every additional person contributes $449 to the limit.

Allowable SNAP Benefits Income Deductions

Deductions from gross income help calculate net income for eligibility. These include the standard deduction: $204 for 1-3 member households, scaling to $291 for 6+ members. Applicants may also deduct 20% of earned income and medical expenses exceeding $35 monthly for households with elderly or disabled members.

Additional deductions cover dependent care costs and the excess shelter deduction. The shelter deduction applies when housing costs surpass 50% of remaining income after other deductions. These adjustments determine the final adjusted net income used for SNAP eligibility determinations.

How to Apply for SNAP Benefits in Your State

To identify official locations for SNAP application assistance, contact your state SNAP agency directly using the USDA’s SNAP State Directory or call the national SNAP information line at 1-800-221-5689. Local community assistance offices, county social services departments, and approved nonprofit partners also provide application support.

For online applications, access your state’s designated benefits portal through government websites ending in .gov, but before that, go to your local agency to confirm what’s the correct website, so you won’t expose to scams.
