Ultimate Guide: When Your IRS Refund Arrives June 2025

There’s No SSI Payment in June 2025: Where’s Your Money and What’s Next

The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) remains one of the largest financial aid programs in the United States, and in the state of Texas, thousands of families need support to access basic foods. In December 2024, state beneficiaries will receive their payments based on the last digit of their EDG (Eligibility Determination Group) number.

But what is the EDG number? Let me explain to you: in Texas, SNAP benefits deposits are not delivered to all beneficiaries at the same time. Instead, they are distributed staggered based on the last digit of the EDG. There are two groups of beneficiaries according to their EDG, and they are those who were certified before June 1, 2020 and those who were certified after that date.

The week between December 7 and 14, a total of six groups of recipients will see their money hit their bank accounts. According to the EGD of each group, the following will be delivered:

  • EDG termina 4: Payment on December 7, 2024
  • EDG termina 5: Payment on December 9, 2024
  • EDG termina 6: Payment on December 11, 2024
  • EDG termina 7: Payment on December 12, 2024
  • EDG termina 8: Payment on December 13, 2024
  • EDG termina 9: Payment on December 15, 2024

Maximum monthly SNAP amount in Texas

The maximum amounts that the program delivers are determined by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), and each year they are impacted by the cost of living adjustment (COLA), a calculation that helps these payments align with inflation and do not lose purchasing power.

In fiscal year 2025, which ends September 30, the maximum food stamp amounts are as follows: (Family size and monthly SNAP amount, respectively)

  • 1 $291
  • 2 $535
  • 3 $766
  • 4 $973
  • 5 $1,155
  • 6 $1,386
  • 7 $1,532
  • 8 $1,751
  • For each additional person: $219

What to do if my money doesn’t arrive

If you are waiting for your SNAP deposit, it is important to verify that your information in the system is up-to-date. Also, plan your purchases to avoid lines or delays, especially if your deposit date falls on a weekend or days close to holidays, which you should take into account even more in this month when it is the end of the year and the Christmas holidays and New Year are coming, with crowds and product shortages on many occasions.

The USDA recommends waiting up to three business days after your payment date in order to determine whether there’s a problem or not. If your money still won’t arrive, get in touch with your local SNAP management office. Have in hand your EDG number and any other documents that back up your claim.
