The first years of Amy Robach's life

The reporter's birth name is Amy Joanne Robach. Although she was born in St. Joseph, during her childhood she moved to many other places such as East Landing, Michigan, St. Louis, Missouri and finally Georgia. There she attended Brookwood High School and then college, where she majored in broadcast journalism.

Once she finished college, Amy began working as a reporter at WCBD in 1995 and stayed there for four years. Through this position, she went on to join WTTG in Washington, D.C., and then MSNBC.

Amy Robach diagnosed with breast cancer

In the month of November 2013, life put a major obstacle in Amy's life. She was diagnosed with breast cancer and, after announcing it on the show where she worked, she decided to undergo a bilateral mastectomy. During the surgery, doctors discovered a second malignant tumor in the other breast and this complicated the treatment.

With a lot of strength and a positive attitude, Robach received eight doses of chemotherapy, radiation and reconstruction surgery. It was all worth it because, as of 2021, the presenter could already say she was cancer-free.
