The series we are talking about is one of the most successful of the Paramount Network. It is 'Yellowstone', a cowboy drama that has been on the air since the premiere of its first season in mid-2018. Ahead of the recent premiere of its fifth season last November 13, it has become one of the most talked-about TV titles. The release of its trailer was a real success in terms of visualizations and, therefore, this new installment of the series was not going to be less.
The new stories about the Dutton family, as well as the marriage of Kelsey Chow and Luke Grimes, managed to break a new audience record on Paramount Network and other networks that broadcast it. Since its first episodes began airing, this series has kept millions of viewers around the world hooked to the screen. So much so that its fourth season even reached figures that only 'Game of Thrones' had achieved.
What is 'Yellowstone' about?
The hit series is about the story of John Dutton, the owner of the largest cattle ranch in the United States. The protagonist is immersed in constant conflicts with his neighbors, with large developers and with an Indian reservation.
Created by Taylor Sheridan and John Linson, this series has a neo-Western style and its cast includes well-known actors such as Wes Bentley, Luke Grimes, Cole Hauser, Kelly Reilly and Q'Orianka Kilcher.
The success of the fifth season of 'Yellowstone'
Just one day after the official trailer for the fifth season of the series was released, it was viewed up to three times more than the number of viewers following it. Following this, the cowboy drama aired a premiere of its new season with a runtime of almost two and a half hours.
This was a ratings record that beat all previous figures. All sectors of its audience, divided by age, saw their figures increase. In terms of total viewership, total viewers were up 10 percent, with a following of 8.8 million people.
Part of the success of this season may also be due to the presence of Kevin Costner within its cast, who gives life to the character of John Dutton, who is proclaimed governor of the state of Montana.
What happens between Kelsey Chow and Luke Grimes?
For her part, Kesley Chow portrays the character of Monica Long Dutton and Luke Grimes portrays the character of Kayce Dutton. The two are part of a marriage that encounters many obstacles since the first season.
The couple grew closer in the next installment, but their love has never become idyllic, far from it. However, the series makes them face so many difficulties, such as the kidnapping of their son Tate, that Monica and Kayce always stay together.
That's five seasons now of Kelsey and Luke having to bring to life a loving and united marriage in the face of adversity. Knowing this, it is possible that their connection could arouse the jealousy of their partners, William Moseley and Gillian Zinser, respectively.
